Julia talks to Laura and Seize!
The benefits of Physiotherpay
Some time ago I wrote about the investment that is made at Wynbury in the health and well being of the horses. One area in particular fascinated me. That was watching the physiotherapist, Lee, at work. For physio to be effective requires a lot of patience, consistency and dedication to repeating the exercises the prescribed number of times to see results. Most of us will give up on those exercises given to us at hospital before we have given it a chance! The majority of staff at Wynbury now know, following demonstrations and observations by Lee, how to perform basic exercises with and on the horses that will help reduce pain and problems to which chasing horses are prone to.
Laura looks after Seize. Lee worked with Seize and Laura and her perseverance at following his physio plan have paid off in style. The horse moves much more fluidly and that has been a major contribution in him recently winning a race and being well with himself! The interesting thing is that Seize now knows his exercises so well that he anticipates them and lifts his legs for Laura ready to carry them out. He obviously knows what’s good for him!
